Westport is a classy Lake Champlain lakeside town. Perched on the hillside, you can see Vermont and the Green Mountains easily. It is big with sailors and boaters. Ballard park, overlooking the lake with its band shell, is a great place. It is also served by Amtrak at its historic rr station. At the fairgrounds, the Essex County Fair is held every August.
